Accounts & Bookkeeping Package
Keep your books clean all year round, from the first invoice to tax time.
Most small-business bookkeeping problems start small: an invoice nobody followed up, a receipt that faded in a drawer, a bank balance that hasn't matched the books for months. You need invoices that go out properly, a polite way to chase late payments, every expense and receipt recorded, the bank reconciled and a clear view of cash flow. The Accounts & Bookkeeping Package turns all of that into one simple monthly routine, so your records stay accurate and ready for BAS and your accountant.
Every template opens with a short How to Use This Document guide that names the documents it connects to. You always know what comes next, and the files are numbered in the order you use them.
What's included: 9 documents
Start here
- Accounts & Bookkeeping Package Overview: the index and document flow for the whole package. It shows what each template does, when to use it and how often.
Day to day
- Branded Invoice Template (Excel spreadsheet): enter your business, bank and GST details once, then issue tax invoices with your ABN, the client's ABN, GST and totals ex and inc GST. Only the invoice prints, ready to save as a PDF and send. An Invoice Log tab tracks every invoice through to payment, with balance due, status and days overdue calculated for you.
- Accounts Receivable Follow-Up Email Templates: five ready-to-send emails, from a friendly reminder before the due date through to a final notice at 30+ days overdue. Each one comes with a suggested subject line and send timing.
- Expense Tracker (Excel spreadsheet): log every expense with category and payment-method drop-downs. GST calculates automatically (with an option for GST-free purchases), there's a column to confirm the receipt is on file, and category totals add up on a summary tab.
- Receipts & Records Checklist: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly (BAS) and annual (tax time) checks, so every receipt and record is captured, filed and kept for the required 5 years.
- Petty Cash Log (Excel spreadsheet): a running balance of your cash float, plus a reconciliation tab to check the cash on hand matches the log.
Month end and beyond
- Bank Reconciliation Log (Excel spreadsheet): your bank balance and book balance side by side, with uncleared deposits and payments feeding in from a separate tab. It confirms when the two agree.
- Simple Cash-Flow Tracker (Excel spreadsheet): cash in and cash out for each month from July to June, with closing balances that roll forward automatically, so you can spot a shortfall well before it arrives.
- Monthly Bookkeeping Checklist: the month-end close routine that ties every document together, covering income, expenses, petty cash, bank reconciliation, cash flow and compliance, with a sign-off at the end.
How it flows
Set Up Once → As It Happens → When Payment Is Late → Month End → Quarter & Year End. Each document points to the next, so the invoice you issue on Monday is the one you reconcile at month end and the one your accountant sees at tax time.
Designed to be used, not just downloaded
- Click-and-type fields with date pickers and tickable checkboxes. All the wording stays fully editable.
- Spreadsheets that do the maths. GST, totals, running balances, reconciliation differences and days overdue are all pre-built, so you only fill in the shaded cells.
- Written for Australian small businesses, with GST, BAS, the July–June financial year and ATO record-keeping requirements in mind.
- A consistent, professional format on A4 pages, in a clean design that looks right on screen and in print.
- Built to connect. This package is the fourth of the four Sorted Suite bundles. It picks up where the Client Onboarding Package leaves off and works alongside the Business Start-Up and Staff Onboarding packs.
Who it's for
Sole traders and small to medium businesses that do their own books or want a tidy system to hand to a bookkeeper. It also suits businesses that want to get on top of invoicing, receipts and cash flow before moving to accounting software, or to use alongside it.

Nine files are numbered in the order you use them. Each opens with a short how-to guide naming the documents it connects to, so you're never guessing what comes next.
Invoices that get paid
Enter your details once, print a tax invoice with ABN and GST, then track days overdue and chase with ready emails.
Records you can trust
Log expenses with GST worked out for you, tick off each receipt, and keep petty cash balanced to the dollar.
A month-end close
Reconcile the bank, roll your cash flow forward and sign off the month with one checklist that ties it all together.
How it flows
One routine, invoice to tax time Nothing complicated.
Set it up once, then let each document hand you to the next. The invoice you issue on Monday is the one you reconcile at month end and your accountant sees at tax time.
-
01
Set up once
Enter your business, bank and GST details one time and every invoice carries them.
-
02
As it happens
Issue invoices, log expenses and file receipts as they come in, not in a panic later.
-
03
When payment is late
Send the right email at the right time, from a gentle nudge to a final notice.
-
04
Month end, quarter and year
Reconcile, check cash flow and sign off monthly, then work through the BAS and tax-time checks.
● PRINT AND CLOSE
The invoice that prints is the one you close.
Only the invoice page prints, with ABN, GST and totals. The log calculates balance due, status and days overdue. The monthly checklist then ties income, expenses, petty cash, bank, cash flow and a sign-off.

Advice
Do I need Word and Excel?
Best in Word and Excel. Google Docs, Sheets and Pages also open them, but formatting and fields may vary.
Is this accounting software?
No. It's a set of 4 Word templates and 5 Excel workbooks. Use it on its own, with a bookkeeper, or alongside accounting software when you move to it.
Can I change the wording?
Yes. All the wording stays fully editable, and spreadsheets only need the shaded cells filled in. The maths is already built in.
How do I get the files?
It's an instant digital download after purchase. Nothing is shipped.
Is it tax advice?
No. It's a general guide only, not legal, tax or financial advice. Have your bookkeeping and BAS reviewed from time to time by a qualified bookkeeper, BAS agent or accountant.
